Terms of Service

The basic rules for using Campora to plan trips, track trips, remember past adventures, invite trip members, upload trip content, and use maps or offline access.

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of Campora, including our website, mobile apps, account features, trip planning tools, maps, notifications, invite links, uploaded media, and any related services we provide.

By using Campora, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Campora.

1. Who may use Campora

You must be able to form a binding contract to use Campora. If you use Campora on behalf of another person, family, group, company, club, or organization, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms for that group.

Campora is not directed to children under 13. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use Campora only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

2. Accounts and security

Some Campora features require an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your email address current, and protect access to your device and account.

You are responsible for activity under your account unless the activity results from Campora failing to meet its own security obligations. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Trip records and your content

Campora lets you create trip plans, camp stops, notes, ratings, memories, links, files, photos, routes, and related information. You keep ownership of the content you add to Campora.

You grant Campora a limited license to host, store, process, display, transmit, back up, and otherwise use your content only as needed to operate, improve, protect, and support Campora and the features you choose to use.

  • Do not upload content that you do not have the right to use.
  • Do not upload illegal, harmful, abusive, invasive, or exploitative content.
  • Do not use Campora to expose private locations, private property access points, or another person’s sensitive information without permission.

4. Outdoor risk, maps, and location information

Camping, backpacking, road travel, overlanding, and other outdoor activities involve real risks, including injury, death, property damage, weather exposure, wildlife, fire restrictions, road closures, and unreliable connectivity.

Campora may show maps, places, coordinates, routes, trip locations, current location, uploaded photo location metadata, or other geographic information. This information may be incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, unavailable offline, or different from actual conditions.

Campora is not an emergency service, rescue service, land-management authority, weather service, professional guide, or safety-critical navigation tool. Always use your own judgment, verify conditions with official sources, carry appropriate maps and safety equipment, and follow applicable laws, closures, permits, and land-use rules.

5. Group trips, invites, and sharing

Campora supports shared trips, invite links, email invites, member roles, notifications, and collaboration features. If you invite someone to a trip, you are responsible for having permission to use their email address or share the invite with them.

Trip members may be able to see trip details, notes, photos, files, locations, member profiles, invite status, and other information associated with the shared trip. Be thoughtful about what you add to a shared trip.

6. Photos, files, and links

You may upload photos, attachments, avatars, and external links. Campora may process uploaded photos to generate optimized versions, thumbnails, metadata, dimensions, dates, or location fields where available.

External links and uploaded files can expose you or other users to third-party content. Campora is not responsible for third-party sites, files, services, or content that users add to a trip.

7. Offline access and sync

Campora may offer offline or downloaded-trip access. Offline features are intended to help you view or use trip information when service is poor, but they are not a guarantee that every map, file, photo, update, or account feature will be available without connectivity.

Downloaded data may become outdated. You are responsible for refreshing, verifying, and backing up information that matters for your trip.

8. Paid features, subscriptions, and app stores

Campora may offer paid features, premium offline capabilities, subscriptions, free trials, or promotional offers. Purchase terms, renewal rules, cancellation options, and refund rights will be shown at checkout or by the app store or payment processor you use.

If you buy through Apple, Google, or another app store, that store’s payment, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms may control. Campora does not receive or store your full payment card details when payments are handled by a third-party payment processor.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Campora, interfere with the service, or use Campora in a way that harms other people, Campora, or the outdoors community.

  • Do not access or attempt to access another user’s account, trip, files, or private information without permission.
  • Do not scrape, reverse engineer, overload, probe, or bypass security or access controls.
  • Do not use Campora to stalk, harass, impersonate, spam, defraud, or endanger anyone.
  • Do not use Campora for unlawful commercial extraction of maps, trip data, user content, or service data.

10. Third-party services

Campora relies on third-party services for hosting, authentication, database, storage, maps, place search, analytics, email, notifications, payments, and app distribution. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for third-party services, but we choose service providers to help operate Campora and protect the product.

11. Campora ownership

Campora, including our software, designs, logos, trademarks, copy, interfaces, databases, and product features, is owned by Campora or its licensors. These Terms do not give you ownership of Campora.

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Campora for its intended purpose.

12. Account deletion and termination

You may stop using Campora at any time. Campora may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms, create risk for other users, create legal exposure, or misuse the service.

If you delete your account, Campora may delete or de-identify account information and personal trip data, subject to technical, legal, security, backup, fraud-prevention, and shared-trip limitations. Content visible to other trip members may remain available to those members when needed to preserve the shared trip record.

13. Disclaimers

Campora is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

You are responsible for your own travel decisions, safety decisions, permissions, route checks, weather checks, equipment, and compliance with laws and land-use rules.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Campora will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages; lost profits; lost data; lost goodwill; service interruptions; outdoor injuries; property damage; or reliance on maps, location data, user content, or third-party services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Campora’s total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid Campora for the service in the 12 months before the claim or $100.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold Campora harmless from claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your content, your trips, your misuse of Campora, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of another person’s rights.

16. Changes and contact

We may update these Terms as Campora changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice when appropriate.

Questions about these Terms can be sent to support@getcampora.com.
